Delete Your Account

Last updated 25 September 2026

This page explains how to delete your ClipEZ account and the data we hold for it. You can do it yourself in any ClipEZ app, and if you can no longer sign in you can ask us by email. Deletion is permanent: once an account is erased we cannot bring it back.

Delete it in the app

In the desktop app, and in ClipEZ on the web, open Settings → Account and find Delete account. Choosing it opens a confirmation dialog that asks you to type DELETE. Erasure begins the moment you confirm, and the app signs you out.

On iPhone, iPad and Android, open Settings, stay on the Account tab, and tap Delete on the Delete account row. Confirm in the alert that follows. The app also clears the stream footage it had cached on the device.

Delete a project or clip without deleting your account

In the Android app, tap the trash icon on a project card to delete that cloud project and its stored stream, transcript, chat and highlights. Open a project and tap the trash icon beside a clip to delete just that clip. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

You can also email privacy@clipez.app from your account address with the project or clip you want removed. We will confirm your identity and delete the requested data while keeping your account and other projects.

If you cannot sign in

Email support@clipez.app from the address on the account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We reply to that address to confirm the request came from you, and nothing is deleted until you answer. Once you confirm we run the same erasure the app runs, and we write back when it is done.

Cancel a store subscription first

A ClipEZ web subscription billed through Stripe or Polar is revoked as part of deletion. If revocation fails, nothing is erased and the app tells you so. You can also cancel it yourself beforehand through Settings → Account.

A subscription bought inside the iOS app is billed by Apple, and one bought inside the Android app is billed by Google Play. Neither store gives us a way to cancel on your behalf, so deleting your ClipEZ account leaves that subscription running and the store keeps charging you. Cancel it before you delete the account: on iOS in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions, and on Android in the Google Play Store under Payments and subscriptions.

What deletion erases

  • Your account with Clerk, the sign-in provider we use, and the sign-in methods attached to it, including a linked Twitch account.
  • Any legacy linked YouTube channel — we revoke its authorization and delete its stored credentials and channel details.
  • Your linked Kick channel and Kick sign-in association — we request revocation of the channel token and delete its stored credentials, channel details and Kick user ID link.
  • Projects you synced to the cloud, with their transcripts, chat logs, waveforms, thumbnail sheets and posters, and the analysis checkpoints behind them.
  • Streams you uploaded and the clips trimmed from them, including the video files in our storage.
  • Highlight suggestions and the feedback you gave on them.
  • Usage and quota records, and your transcription allowance with its top-ups and charges.
  • Subscription records we hold for your account, whether they came from Polar, the App Store or Google Play.
  • Push notification tokens for your devices, and support tickets you sent from the app.
  • Your waitlist entry and its survey answers, if you had one.

Cloud video removal runs after account deletion, and failed deletions are retried.

Material that never left your computer is not affected. The desktop app keeps projects, source recordings and exports on your own disk, and account deletion does not reach them.

What is kept

Clerk, Stripe, Polar, Apple and Google retain authentication and billing records under their own terms; payment records may be kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

We attempt to erase your PostHog analytics profile and its events when your account is deleted. If that does not complete, email privacy@clipez.app and we will erase them for you.

Anything else we hold is retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
