Browser and mobile imports process and store the source video in the cloud. On desktop, local analysis sends compressed audio and transcript text; uploading the full recording to cloud storage is optional.
In the desktop app: No. Transcription runs in the managed pipeline, not on your machine, so a laptop with no discrete graphics is fine. Rendering clips uses your machine's hardware video encoder where there is one, and the default "Original" quality copies the stream without re-encoding at all.
Files you already downloaded stay yours. Once your trial or subscription ends, further analysis and exports need a paid plan. Download any cloud footage you want to keep; cloud streams are removed fourteen days after a paid billing period ends.
Only footage you analyse for the first time, and only the speech in it. ClipEZ drops long pauses before transcribing, so loading screens, queue time and dead air stay out of your allowance. AI highlights and chapters come out of that same pass and never use extra hours. Reopening a stream you have already analysed, or cutting more clips from it, costs nothing.
Clipping and exporting do not use analysis hours. They are available during your trial or paid subscription. Browser and mobile clips are limited to 3 minutes each; use desktop for longer clips.
